Jesus is the light of the world, and as the Christ part of his work was to teach God's people and defend them from untruth. That is what he did in the temple in his last week. In this passage, Jesus answers a question from the Pharisees about Caesar, a question from the Sadducees about the resurrection, a question from a scribe about the greatest commandment of all, and then asked a question of his own - an essential question for us to answer today.
