Here was a very important marriage; the Holy Spirit has recorded it in detail for us. Isaac and Rebekah were the parents of Jacob, who was re-named “Israel”; the father of the Old Testament nation. Here we see lessons about faithfulness in old age, about marriage, and about God's providence - and important applications in particular about how the truth is to be passed down from generation to generation.
