The cursing of the fig tree and judgment upon the temple
Download: Download:After the king rode into Jerusalem to receive his kingdom (through the cross), he first visited his kingdom to see its condition. Jesus is a king who visits and judges his people. He comes looks for fruit. When Jesus cursed the fig tree and purged the temple, he was giving the people a lesson and a warning. To his disciples it seemed incredible that they could hope for the opposition to Jesus' kingdom that came from the kingdom to wither and die - yet Jesus taught them that even mountains can be removed. This passage contains vital lessons for every follower of Jesus.
