This passage covers the final hours before Jesus was betrayed. Jesus had one more shocking announcement for his disciples - but given to prepare them, warn them and ultimately to restore them after they fell. In this passage we see "Jesus alone" - carrying the burden of the sins of his people, taking on the whole work of atonement with nobody alongside him. Here we see vital spiritual principles, and ultimately the great love which the Saviour has for his people.
