“Be holy, for I the LORD your God am holy” (Leviticus 19:2). This is the great command of the Bible for living a life as believers. It is taught at the heart of the Old Testament, and also the New (1 Peter 1:15-16). Jesus did not say “Go into all the world, and fill church buildings”. He said, “Go therefore and make disciples … teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you” (Matthew 28:19-20). When the church is not holy, then it fails. It dishonours God and loses its spiritual light and effectiveness. It may be large and noisy – but God has departed from it. But what is holiness? Why is important? How can we get it? This issue of “Grace Magazine” has been published to give answers to these questions, and we pray that God will greatly bless it to you as you read it and share it with your friends.
