Faith now faced one of its final major tests in the life of Abraham - and the test was the hardest of all. All the previous years now led up to this. We should not think that the hardest tests are at the beginning of the Christian life; Abraham has much to teach us again here; and above all so does God, as he points us to the offering up of his one and only Son for us all.
